Resumen:
This paper describes an experience of introducing the project-based learning methodology (PBL) in a robotics course. The PBL has been partially implemented and only concerns the practical credits. A single project has been proposed for the whole class, and consists in developing a checker-playing robot. It is a multidisciplinary project that integrates several technologies, such as robotics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. First, the academic framework for introducing the PBL is described. Afterwards, the key elements for electing the project as well as some technical details of the project are given. Furthermore, the pedagogical issues concerning the PBL implementation are discussed. Finally, a qualitative assessment of our experience is addressed.
