Abstract

This article comments on a paper published by Igarashi et al. (Pharm Res. 2023;40(7):1789–97), which describes an animal model for determining the optimal pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) value for cefditoren against Streptococcus pneumoniae, to be used as a target parameter in a subsequent population pharmacokinetic analysis.
