Abstract
espacio. Para ello emplea dos procedimientos
distintos, y acaso opuestos: el primero
–ejemplificado en el proyecto de la Très
Grand Bibliotheque, 1989– es la especificidad
espacial asociada a cada parte autónoma del
programa, que hace explícita la heterogeneidad
del conjunto; el segundo –cuyo máximo
exponente es el proyecto para las Bibliotecas
de Jussieu, 1992– es la continuidad entre
situaciones espaciales diversas, que posibilita
el desarrollo de actividades múltiples y cambiantes.
Analytical study on certain issues outlined by Rem Koolhaas in his book Delirious New York, 1978, and on how they influenced his own designing skills during the decades after this publication. In his projects, Koolhaas reveals the multiple and changeable character of the metropolitan program by means of the space. To that end, he proceeds in two different and even opposite ways: the first one –exemplified by the Très Grand Bibliotheque, 1989– is the spatial specificity associated with every single and independent part of the program, which makes explicit the heterogeneity of the whole; the second –epitomized by the Jussieu Libraries, 1992– is the continuity of the diverse spatial situations, which allows to perform multiple and changeable activities.
