Resumen:
The present study proposes the analysis and simulation by means of CAD / CAM / CAE technologies of different models of existing sports prostheses made of carbon fiber. The objective is to obtain a study method that allows defining its biomechanical behavior and based on this power, make its comparison with alternatives based on the application of new materials and Advanced Manufacturing (AM) processes that offer possible improvements in performance and alternatives in its design and customization. For this study, 4 different models of crossbow have been designed using the CATIA software. Two of these models are inspired by two different commercial crossbows prostheses, while the other two models a new design is proposed.
After analyzing all the points such as materials, designs, manufacturing technologies and simulations, it is concluded that it is possible to design crossbows for transtibial sports prostheses with different geometries and manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing.
