El tiempo en las manos

Abstract

Bajo la pátina del tiempo, agente necesario de la transformación, capaz de esconder, sumergir, desplazar y extraviar, también de provocar reencuentros, superposiciones, simetrías o círculos, todo cuanto existe queda expuesto a las leyes de la erosión y el desgaste, en alteración continua de la realidad. Frente al ineludible carácter finito de las cosas, el hombre-creador responde con las únicas armas de que dispone, las herramientas del arte: el dibujo, la pintura, la escultura, la fotografía... En definitiva, tratando de retener el tiempo, dilatarlo o postergarlo, y para ello necesita sostenerlo en sus manos. Y quizás, en raras ocasiones, acaso lo consiga.

Under the traces of time, necessary agent of transformation which is able to hide, immerse, move and misplace, and also to provoke reencounters, overlays, symmetries and loops, all that exists is exposed to the laws of erosion and wear, in a continuous alteration of reality. In the face of the irredeemable finite nature of things, the creator-man responds with the only weapons at his disposal, the art tools: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography... In short, he seeks to retain time, procrastinate or put it off, and for that he needs to hold it in his hands. And perhaps, very rarely, he succeeds.
