Abstract

Compartir datos puede ayudar a salvar vidas, como hemos visto tras lo acontecido con la Covid-19 y ello ha provocado el debate entre la supremacía de lo comunitario versus la individualidad. Ante la omnipresencia del Dataísmo en la cotidianidad de las personas, se deberá proteger a éstas últimas, para evitar anular su libre voluntad, o incluso, ser objeto de negocios o manipulaciones. El big data es un bien común de la humanidad que debe aprovecharse respetando la ley y sin empujar a una falsa elección entre salud o privacidad. En todo caso, se deberá fomentar la compartición y reutilización de datos con políticas públicas claras, donde los gobiernos se comprometan a la inversión económica y las personas tengan información clara y transparente del destino de sus datos personales de carácter de salud

Sharing data can help to save lives, as we have seen in the wake of the Covid-19 incident, giving rise to the debate between the supremacy of community versus individuality. Faced with the omnipresence of Dataism in people's daily lives, the latter must be protected in order to avoid overriding their free will, or even being the object of business or manipulation. Big data is a common good of humanity that must be exploited in accordance with the law and without pushing people into a false choice between "health or privacy". In any case, the sharing and reuse of data should be encouraged with clear public policies, where governments are committed by economic investment and individuals have clear and transparent information on the destination of their health data.
