Abstract
The Fierros Collection originated as a result of the admiration that the Asturian painter Dionisio Fierros felt for the work of the British photographer Charles Clifford. In this article, public information about the content of the Collection is presented for the first time to highlight the relevance of its discovery, that is to say, its importance as a valuable medium of communication of the architecture and in order to be recognized as part of our historic heritage. Particular focus is given to heretofore unpublished photographs which introduce new data about Clifford’s life and work. As well, the close and little-known professional relationship and friendship between the photographer and the painter in the middle of the 19th century in Spain, is examined, with hypothesis and thesis.
