El discurso periodístico sobre la inmigración latinoamericana en España: el corpus de noticias INMIGRA

Abstract

Esta investigación presenta los primeros resultados del análisis del corpus INMIGRA (http://www.grupoinmigra-imasd.es), compuesto por textos periodísticos extraídos de diarios generalistas de pago (Abc y El País), generalistas gratuitos (20 minutos y ADN) y específicos de los colectivos inmigrantes (Latino y Sí se puede), recopilados en la primera quincena de los meses de octubre y noviembre de 2008. Nuestro propósito es ocuparnos del tratamiento lingüístico otorgado a cuestiones de diverso cariz relacionadas con la inmigración latinoamericana y con la imagen que de ella, así como de los grupos de población inmigrante, se ofrece en los medios reseñados. Concretamente, en nuestra investigación hemos partido de los temas predominantes en las diferentes piezas informativas para analizar las referencias a los sujetos y actores de la información y los tipos de encuadre que ofrecen los medios seleccionados sobre la realidad de la inmigración.

The journalistic discourse about Latin American immigration in Spain: the INMIGRA corpus. This paper offers the first research analysis of the INMIGRA corpus (http://www.grupoinmigra-imasd.es). This corpus is formed by journalistic texts from general-interest, reference, non free Spanish newspapers (Abc and El País), general-interest free newspapers (20 minutos and ADN), and newspapers specifically oriented to immigrant population (Latino and Sí, se puede). The texts were compiled in the first fortnight of both October and November 2008. Our aim is to deal with the linguistic treatment given to different issues related to Latin American immigration, as well as with the images of immigration transferred by the above mentioned newspapers. Specifically, we have started studying the key issues considered in the different information pieces, with the double purpose of analyzing the references made of the subjects and actors of the information, and also the framing types provided by these media about the reality of immigration.
