Abstract

This paper presents the development and validation of a universal, low-cost device that can be installed on any rolling test bench for wheelchair athletics. It is designed to measure performance metrics such as power and rolling resistance. Addressing the lack of accessible measuring tools in some paralympic sports, this solution combines affordable hardware and open-source software to obtain real-time data such as rotational speed, acceleration, or power among others. Initial tests with a high-performance athlete confirm the system’s accuracy and potential scalability. The project aims to democratize access to training technology in adapted sports.
