Abstract

We studied 346 patients with normal or near-normal coronary arteries using the ergonovine provocative test (EPT). EPT produced spasm in 69 patients (20%). Baseline ECG and ECG changes during chest pain had no relation with the presence of spasm. Vasospasm during follow-up (mean 39 ± 24 months) was more frequent in patients with a positive EPT (28 vs. 2%, P < .001).
