Abstract
El propósito del presente estudio fue analizar la efectividad del juego de cartas “Good Food + Active” en la mejora de conocimientos sobre hábitos alimentarios y de actividad física en adolescentes escolares de secundaria. Para ello, un total de 92 adolescentes escolares (13,4±1,3 años) de ambos sexos realizaron un cuestionario sobre hábitos alimentarios y de actividad física, y sobre conocimientos en relación a dieta y alimentos saludables, y actividad física y sedentarismo. Tras la finalización del cuestionario y la explicación de la mecánica del juego, los participantes jugaron durante ~2h al juego de cartas. Finalizado el tiempo de juego, volvieron a realizar el cuestionario. Se observó una mejora de los conocimientos sobre alimentación y, actividad física y sedentarismo (P=0,001), encontrándose diferencias por sexos (5,7% mujeres vs4,2% hombres; P=0,010), encontrándose un mayor aumento en el grupo de mujeres (P<0,001). El juego de cartas “Good Food + Active” podría ser una herramienta útil como parte de un proyecto educativo con objeto de afianzar los conocimientos sobre alimentación, actividad física y sedentarismo de adolescentes en el currículo educativo dentro de la asignatura de Educación Física.
The purpose of the present study was to analyze the effectiveness of the card game: “Good Food + Active” on theknowledge of nutrition, physical activity and sedentary habits in Spanish adolescents. A total of 92 adolescents of both sexes aged 13,4±1,3 years were recruited. Initially, participants performed a questionnaire about nutritional and physicalactivity habits, as well as about healthy dietary, physical activity and sedentarism knowledge. Then, the card game wasexplained and participants played during ~2h. At the end of this time, participants performed the questionnaire.Improvement in nutritional, physical activity and sedentarism knowledge were found (P=0.001), reporting sex differences(5.7% females vs 4.2% males; P=0.010), finding a statistically significant increase in the female adolescent group (P<0.001). The card game “Good Food + Active” could be a useful tool, as part of an educative project, aimed a treinforcing nutritional, physical activity and sedentarism knowledge in adolescents as part of the educative curriculum ofphysical education.
