Italia, de Tangentopoli al nuevo sistema de partidos (1992-1994)

Abstract

Entre 1992 y 1994 se produjo un cambio en la política italiana de extraordinaria importancia como consecuencia de los numerosos escándalos de corrupción en un proceso que se conoció bajo el nombre de Tangentopoli. Este artículo aborda las razones de dicho cambio y las consecuencias del mismo, entre las que cabe destacar la desaparición del partido hegemónico hasta el momento (la Democracia Cristiana) y de la otra formación política importante durante los años ochenta (como era el Partido Socialista Italiano). Todo ello daría lugar a una nueva realidad política que marcaría la política italiana los siguientes veinte años.Between 1992 and 1994 there was a change in Italian politics of extraordinary importance as a result of the numerous scandals of corruption, in a process that became known with the name of Tangentopoli. This article discusses the reasons for the change and the consequences thereof, including the disappearance of the hegemonic party so far (Christian Democracy) and of the Italian Socialist Party, another important political party during the 1980s. All this would lead to a new political reality that contributed to shaping Italian politics for the next twenty years.
