Annually, the oceans become the depositories of millions of tonnes of plastic waste, a global environmental crisis that has intensified over recent decades. This accumulation of marine plastics not only poses a significant threat to aquatic ecosystems but also emerges as a burgeoning challenge for waste management worldwide. In this context, the construction sector, as the principal consumer of resources and waste generator within the European Union, plays a pivotal role. This is particularly pertinent in the Canary Islands archipelago, due to its isolated condition, necessitating the incorporation of circular economy processes to mitigate material dependence from external sources for construction products, as no raw materials are manufactured or processed in the regioneng
