Le traducteur et les collocations

Abstract

El dominio de las colocaciones, lato sensu, permite mejorar la productividad del trabajo, evitar los calcos y dar una suerte de estilo cuando, exhausta, falla la imaginación. Para que el acceso a las colocaciones sea inmediato, es preciso establecer una clasificación. Distinguimos los seis grupos de colocaciones siguientes: 1) verbo transitivo directo + sustantivo, 2) sustantivo + adjetivo, 3) sustantivo + verbo intransitivo, 4) segmentos recurrentes, 5) adjetivo + sustantivo, 6) verbo + complemento. Al principio de nuestra investigación, las colocaciones estaban repartidas en 4 ficheros Word, lo cual ralentizaba el acceso rápido a la información. Para aumentar la productividad del trabajo, hemos desarrollado, con la ayuda de un informático, una base de datos que acoge toda la información de los cuatro ficheros. Esta base de datos, llamada «L’Atelier», pues la lengua es nuestra herramienta de trabajo, presenta varias ventanas de acceso a la información. Con el fin de darle publicidad a nuestro trabajo, hemos creado en Internet un diccionario de colocaciones que podrá consultarse en la URL <www.tonitraduction.net>.

Mastery of collocations in its widest sense helps increase productivity at work, avoiding loan translations and providing some sort of style when the imagination fails. For immediate access to collocations we have classified them into the following six categories: 1) direct transitive verb + noun 2) noun + adjective 3) noun + intransitive verb 4) recurring segments 5) adjective + noun 6) verb + complement. At the beginning of our research project, the collocations were spread out over four Word files which slowed down access to the information. In order to increase productivity at work and with the help of a technician, we have developed a data base which includes all data from our four original files. This data base called "L'Atelier", language being the tool of our trade, offers various windows of access to the information. With a view to publicizing our work, we have created an on-line dictionary that can be accessed at <www.tonitraduction.net>.
