Abstract

Physical activity and its relationship with health is recognized throughout the world, as well as the need to increase levels of physical activity to improve health status. However, physical inactivity is a major public health problem that must be addressed. Therefore, international institutions have promulgated physical activity guidelines to address the potential risks of sedentary lifestyles and physical inactivity that exist in todays societies. However, it is necessary to evaluate if the population follows these guidelines and to what extent it affects their physical fitness and health levels. The main goal of this pilot study was to widely assess the physical fitness and health levels of population that is regularly enrolled in physical fitness centres.
