Abstract
Este artículo se centra en “Versiones del Sur” (2000-2001) y “Perder la forma humana” (2012-2013), dos exposiciones de arte latinoamericano que se distinguen de las restantes de su género realizadas en España por el hecho de ser las primeras cuyos comisarios fueron latinoamericanos. Se analizan sus conceptos y contenidos y —con el fin de poner de presente diferencias entre las miradas angloamericanas e iberoamericanas de dicho arte— se contrastan con los de las dos exposiciones que ofrecieron igualmente ambiciosas panorámicas del arte de dicho continente: “Arte Iberoamericano.1820-1980” (1988 -1989) y “Artistas latinoamericanos del siglo XX” (1992 -1993).
This article focuses on Versiones del Sur (2000) and Perder la forma humana (2012). These two exhibitions of Latin American art are distin-guished within their made-in-Spain genre, be-cause they were the first whose curators were Latin American. Their concepts and contents are analysed, and - in order to present differences be-tween the Anglo-American and Ibero-American perspectives of this art - they are contrasted with those of two exhibitions that also offered ambi-tious panoramas of the art of the continent: Arte Iberoamericano: 1820-1980 (1989) and Artistas latinoamericanos del siglo XX (1992).
