Viaje al Origen: un recorrido por la historia de la arquitectura umbilical

Abstract

Se propone un breve recorrido por la evolución del concepto de ombligo del mundo, entendido como centro del universo y como origen de nuestra existencia. La historia del ombligo del mundo ha ido ligada a una arquitectura protectora que lo albergaba hasta que el paradigma existencial de nuestro universo ha trastocado los limites y la idea del origen y de nuestro destino. Iniciaremos el viaje de la mano de Hermes hasta llegar al Omphalos délfico y del oráculo de Apolo pasaremos por el templo de Júpiter capitolino, Santa Sofía de Constantinopla, la Kaaba de la Meca, el Tabernáculo judío y el Templo de Salomón, el Gólgota cristiano, las Colinas Negras de Dakota del Sur y el templo de Indra hasta llegar a Taliesin, el Guggenheim y la estación espacial Endurance y de vuelta a Stonehenge.
