La deportivización del curriculum de educación física en las imágenes de los libros de texto de la ESO

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es conocer el tipo de actividades físicas presentes en las imágenes de los libros de texto de Educación Física para la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria –ESO– y esclarecer si existe en dichas imágenes una visión deportivizada del currículum. Se realiza un estudio fundamentalmente descriptivo que utiliza el análisis de contenido como técnica central de la investigación. La muestra está formada por un total de 242 fotografías –99 publicadas en los libros de texto de Educación Física de ESO de la editorial Paidotribo y 143 en los de la editorial Anaya–. En primer lugar se elabora un instrumento de análisis para las imágenes objeto de estudio, cuyo proceso de construcción consta de dos pruebas piloto, dos consultas a expertos y la triangulación con tres observadores. Los resultados muestran que los deportes gozan de un trato preferente frente a otras actividades físicas. También la competición, los espacios deportivos y el alto rendimiento se encuentran ampliamente representados. Por su parte, las actividades físicas adaptadas apenas aparecen.

The purpose of this work is to know the physical activity that are showed in the pictures of textbooks about Physical Education for the Secondary Obligatory Education and to set up if there is a vision sport curriculum in the images. It is carried out a fundamentally descriptive study that uses the content analysis as the central technique of this investigation. The sample is formed by a total of 242 pictures (99 published in the book of text of Physical Education of Secundary Obligatory Education from “Paidotribo” Editorial and the other 143 pictures come from “Anaya” Editorial). Firstly, an analysis instrument is developed for the images that are object of this study, whose construction process consists of two show tests, two consultations to some experts and the triangulation with three observers. The results show that sports enjoy preferential treatment compared to other physical activity. Competition, sports sites and high performance are amply represented. However, the physical activities tailored to the people with “special educational needs” appear very little.
