Abstract

This chapter offers an innovative approach to determine success factors in an international horse show jumping event. The selected event is settled in Madrid, Spain, as part of a larger international championship, with relevance from the economic perspective. It addresses an innovative method in the sports industry for measuring strengths and weaknesses: Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). This chapter is based on a case study that addresses event evaluation from a practical approach. Different priorities are established from the analyzed data, mainly related to the food and beverage service, the organizational aspect, comfort, and event environment. Although this is an event-focused chapter, it has great implications for other markets in the sports industry. Hence, this chapter has great implications for practitioners, educators, university students, and researchers.
