Legal immigration and work permit in EU: Blue Card and single application procedure as a model for successful harmonization

Abstract

This work explores the statu quo of EU harmonisation on employment and related items as family reunification, long-term residence, mobility and recognition of rights. For this purpose the Directives on highly qualified employment and on a single application procedure for a single permit are taken as a guideline for the rest of materialisations on migration policy. Concludes recommending some good practices not only for Member States but for further candidate countries.
