El Guernica: museografía, arquitectura y fotografía

Abstract

Es amplísima la literatura sobre el Guernica, su significado, su proceso de gestación, los lugares que visitó, así como el largo proceso que concluyó con su regreso a España. Menos abundantes son los trabajos que relacionan el cuadro con los arquitectos que guardaron algún tipo de contacto con él. Y podríamos calificar de rarezas los ensayos que relacionan la obra maestra de Picasso con la fotografía. Este artículo pretende poner en relación estas tres disciplinas en torno al Guernica, planteando un recorrido físico por los espacios que lo acogieron; aportando los nombres de los arquitectos que se cruzaron con el cuadro; para acabar concluyendo con la extensísima lista de profesionales que lo inmortalizaron en circunstancias diversas. No hay que olvidar que nos encontramos, probablemente, ante el cuadro y el artista más fotografiados de la historia.

It’s very large the literature about Guernica,its meaning, its gestation process, the places it visited, as well as the long process that concluded with his return to Spain. Less abundant are the works that relate the picture with the architects who kept some kind of relationship with it. And we could describe as odd the essays that relate Picasso’s masterpiece to photography. This article tries to relate these three disciplines around Guernica, proposing a physical journey through the spaces that welcomed him; providing the names of the architects who came across the painting; to conclude with the extensive list of photographers who immortalized it in different circumstances. Do not forget that we are, probably, in front of the most photographed picture and artist in history.
