International Association for the Development of the Information Society .9789728939465http://hdl.handle.net/11268/2611In this paper we present TMT (Translational Medicine Tool), a scalable platform to integrate applicable techniques within the paradigm of translational medicine. Particularly relevant components to the development are Freebase, a large collaborative base of knowledge, General Architecture for Text Engineering (GATE), a system for text processing, and PubMed, a scientific literature repository. The platform architecture has been built thinking in scalability, in several ways: to allow the integration of different natural language processing techniques, to expand the sources from which to perform the information extraction and to ease integration of new user interfaces.engTMT: a scalable platform to enrich translational medicine environmentsconference outputrestricted accessInformática
