This study examined associations between a CAPSOM-derived composite knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) score, oral hygiene behaviors, and clinical oral health indicators in pregnant women attending primary health care centers in Lanzarote, Spain. The contribution of the composite score was modest and outcome dependent. These findings support combining oral health education with practical oral hygiene counseling in prenatal care.engAttribution 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Ciencias Biomédicas y de la SaludSalud BucalConocimientos, Actitudes y Práctica en SaludEstudios TransversalesOral health knowledge, attitudes, practices and behavioral factors associated with clinical oral health indicators in pregnant women: a cross-sectional study in Spainjournal article10.3389/froh.2026.1928373open accessCiencias médicasOdontologíaEmbarazoGoal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all agesGoal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
