La formación del traductor especializado está adquiriendo en los
últimos años mayor relevancia dentro de los estudios de
traducción y es fondo de debate en numerosos congresos y
seminarios. La falta de trabajos y de investigación en esta
dirección nos obliga a tratar este tema con la máxima delicadeza y
profesionalidad. Ante todo, debemos formar adecuadamente a
nuestros estudiantes y prepararles para un mercado que busca
traductores especializados. Esta comunicación propone un modelo
de trabajo a seguir a la hora de traducir un texto especializado del
área biomédica. Se pretende formar a un profesional competente
y preparado para afrontar, mediante una metodología propia,
eficaz y, ante todo, rápida, la traducción de un texto especializado.
Esta metodología se basa fundamentalmente en un hecho de
sobra probado y conocido: sólo entendiendo bien el fondo del
texto se podrá traducir correctamente el texto. Ahora bien,

In the last few years, Translation Studies have been taking an increasing interest in teaching how to create translators able to translate any kind of language for specific purposes. The lack of investigation in this field makes us take this issue with much caution. Above all, we must train our students in a way they can compete in a fast-developing market that mainly requires translations of languages for specific purposes. This paper proposes a clear methodology for translators to use while translating a specialized text within the biomedical area. We aim to create a professional translator able to produce a high-quality text using his own, fast and efficient method, a method based in a well-known fact: a good translation can only be carried out when the real meaning and sense of the original text is being understood.
