Golf swing is a skill which could be classifi ed as a high speed hit where the main goal is that the the golf club head reaches the adequate precision and velocity at impact time. The aim of this study was to fi nd out the timing sequences at junior gold players and to verify whether the speed or the angular velocities fi t better in other to analyze this skill. Twelve golf swings executed by four young players were biomechanically analyzed. Automatic capture with Vicon Oxford Metrics © was used. The absolute values of the linear velocities were higher at men than at women. The analysis of the speed timing sequence showed that, depending on the gender, they described different order. For men, during the downswing, the sequence started with the hip movement, followed by left elbow, left shoulder y the club head. For women, the hips y left elbow occurred simultaneously, followed by the left shoulder and the club head. On the other hand the angular velocity sequences had the same order, being the hip turn fi rst, then the shoulder turn and, fi nally, the golf club head acceleration. These key events were more separate at the time line at men group than at women group. This could be the reason why me...
